FAQ
Questions families ask us
Straight answers about how we work. If your question isn't here, call us. You'll talk to the people who own the company.
Is your care medical?
No. We provide non-medical personal care and companionship. Our caregivers don't give injections, change wound dressings, administer medication or provide nursing care. If your loved one needs nursing, we'll point you to the right regulated provider.
How quickly can you start?
We call back the same day you reach out, and care can often start within 48 hours. We'll usually book a free consultation first, in person at your home or by phone.
How much does home care cost?
We don't post prices because every family's needs are different. The cost depends on the type of care and how long and how often visits are. After a quick call or a free home visit, we give you a personalised quote with no obligation.
Can WRHA or Veterans Affairs funding pay for your care?
It may. Families on WRHA Self and Family Managed Care can use their funding to hire an agency like us, and veterans in the Veterans Independence Program can be reimbursed for personal care. We'll help with the paperwork and receipts.
How does billing work?
You get a clear quote before care begins. After that, billing is weekly, by e-transfer or card. There's no long-term contract. See our Funding & Payment page for details.
Can I claim this on my taxes?
Attendant care can qualify for the federal Medical Expense Tax Credit. We provide a detailed receipt with every invoice. Check with your accountant for your situation.
Can you work alongside my WRHA home care hours?
Yes. Many families add private hours to the care WRHA already provides, for example longer visits, evenings, weekends or overnight. We'll fit around the existing schedule.
Can you help when someone comes home from hospital?
Yes, with non-medical support: help settling in, meals, personal care, mobility help around the home, medication reminders and company during the first days and nights. We follow the discharge plan from the hospital team and don't do nursing tasks.
Can I arrange care for a parent from out of town?
Yes. Many families organise care from another city. We can do the consultation by phone or video with you and in person with your parent, and send you regular updates.
Do I need a minimum number of hours?
We'll talk through what makes sense in your free consultation, from a few hours a week to overnight stays. Your quote spells out visit lengths so there are no surprises.
Will we have the same caregiver each time?
We aim for the same familiar caregiver on every visit, because consistency matters, especially for people living with dementia.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve families across Winnipeg and nearby communities. If you're not sure we cover your neighbourhood, call us and we'll tell you right away.
What if we need to cancel a visit?
Please give us at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations may be billed as described in your service agreement.
